Herring Wedding Reception - Newton Grove, NC
This wedding reception for 600 + guests was held in an 80' x 150', 8-pole tension tent provided by a local Raleigh party rental store. The location of the event was an empty field behind a hunting lodge located on a pig farm in Newton Grove, NC. Our client on this event was the mother of the bride, and she wanted the look of the tent to be totally different than what was done for her other daughter the previous year. She wanted the lighting to reflect the season that the event was taking place, Fall. We decide to use what we call patterned lighting, specifically trees or branches without leaves with fall colors.
We collaborated with the bride's mother and father, the party rental salesperson and also the wedding planner. We got involved about six weeks before the event and finalized all the plans about two weeks before the the big day. One week prior to starting the installation, we found out the guest numbers had increased by 100. With all the extra guests, the tent also had to increase by 2400 sq. ft. This meant we had to rework the lighting design and also get it approved by the client in a matter of hours.
We installed all the lighting on the Thursday before the event which took about 30 man hours to complete. We were also responsible for the power distribution for our lighting, the band and other electrical needs. We completed the installation just as it was getting dark enough to focus and to also let the bride's mother see the final results.
This event won us two association awards for event lighting. This is just one example of what Total Production Services can do for your special event.
